LEARN ABOUT US

Serving Alabama Since 2011

For nearly 15 years, CALA (Centro de Acceso para Latinos de Alabama) has been dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Latine communities across Alabama. Originally established under AIDS Alabama, CALA provided HIV prevention, early intervention, and linguistic services for people living with HIV. In 2025, CALA began a new chapter as an independent nonprofit organization, expanding its impact through LGBTQIA+ programs, leadership and volunteer opportunities, health education, emergency assistance, immigration support, and advocacy. Today, CALA works to reduce barriers, promote health equity, and empower immigrant and underserved communities to thrive.
